Summer Sunday Teas

Broad Campden Quakers will open their historic Meeting House for teas on Sunday afternoons this summer. The Meeting House and Garden will be open to visitors, offering tea, coffee and homemade cakes, from 2pm to 5pm each Sunday from 28th May till 30th July 2017.

Social gatherings

Coffee/ tea and informal chat every Sunday after Meeting for Worship.

Early in the year an annual bring and share lunch, hosted by one of our members or attenders in their home.

Occasional shared lunches at the Meeting House following Meeting for Worship.

Celebration of special anniversaries.

Other events

Support of Chipping Campden’s Transition Town movement.

Once or twice a year Banbury & Evesham Area Meeting holds its Meeting for Business and/or Learning, usually on a Saturday afternoon, followed by tea and cakes.

Once every 5 years the Women’s World Day of Prayer is held at the Meeting House. It was our turn in 2015.

Becoming Friends

A course at Broad Campden based on informal discussions for attenders wishing to learn more about Quakers, led by one of our members. Venue, frequency and time by arrangement. Contact the clerk for details.

Syrian Refugee Film 2016

Broad Campden Quakers hosted showing this film at the Old Police Station in Chipping Campden on October 6th as outreach during Quaker Week, to an audience of about 25 people – not just Quakers. The collection raised £200 for Save the Children Fund.

Gloucestershire Historic Churches Ride and Stride September 9th 2017

On Sunday June 14th 2015, Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust officially presented a generous cheque of £8,000 to Broad Campden Meeting towards the cost of the new roof.

Women's World Day of Prayer, March 6th 2015

Forty eight people from St James’s C of E, Chipping Campden, St Eadburgha’s C of E, Ebrington, St Catharine’s Catholic Church, Chipping Campden, the Chipping Campden Baptist Church and from our own meeting, squeezed into our tiny Meeting House to celebrate Women’s World Day of Prayer. This year’s interdenominational service was prepared by the Christian Women of the Bahamas, with the theme ‘Jesus said to them: Do you know what I have done to you?’

Meeting for learning: "Lover of Souls"
